Acteens. Teen girls learn that God can use them every day in countless ways to change their world. It’s all about Missions. Missions is what a believer does in keeping with the commission of our sovereign Lord to bring all people to Christ and to glorify God. Our Objectives:.

  1. Acteens Teen girls learn that God can use them every day in countless ways to change their world.

  2. It’s all about Missions • Missions is what a believer does in keeping with the commission of our sovereign Lord to bring all people to Christ and to glorify God.

  3. Our Objectives: • Pray for missions • Engage in mission action and witnessing • Learn about missions • Support missions • Develop spiritually toward a missions lifestyle • Participate in the work of the church and denomination

  5. Why missions discipleship? Missions groups help students learn to look beyond themselves and become actively involved in missions and ministry.

  6. Teen girls grades 7-12 Ages 12-17

  7. Acteens is a vital part of Youth /Student Ministry.

  8. Who Can Be an Acteen? • Girls, ages 12-17 or in grades 7-12 who want to participate can be members. • Girls can participate in Acteens either individually or in a group. • A group may include girls from more than one church or girls who do not attend church. • Groups may meet at church, school, or other location in the community.

Acteens Leaders Responsibilities • Serve on WMU Leadership Team • Plan, conduct and evaluate meetings and mission action activities with and for Acteens • Get to know each girl involved in Acteens • Pray for each girl • Look for ways to involve Acteens in missions through your church, in your community and around the world

  11. Acteens Leaders Responsibilities • Provide spiritual direction and model a missions lifestyle • Seek to involve all students in Acteens • Participate in associational and state training • Lead in identifying objectives, setting goals, and implementing action plans to meet the goals

  12. Meeting times/places • Times convenient to members and prospective members. • Place may be determined by the activity to be conducted or for the convenience of the members.

  13. Structure Acteens

  14. Possibilities of Structure • One group (7th-12th grades together) • Two or more groups (7th-9th grades, 10th-12th grades) • A One-Acteen group • Combination group (girls from your neighborhood or association, or two churches)

  15. Acteens curriculum: • Acteens Leader (3 times a year) • The Mag- Acteens Member (Bi-Monthly)

  16. How to use Acteens Leader: Four Sessions of Curriculum each month • Bible Study • Personal/Spiritual Growth • Missionary Focus/Cultural Experience • Hands-On Missions Experience

  17. How to use Acteens Leader: • Each Session is divided into four parts: • Spark (Introductory Activities) • Explore (Core Activities) • Transform (Activities that build on what girls learn) • Apply (“do something” with what they are learning)

Activators • Acteens who are 15 years old or completed 9th grade • One adult sponsor for every five Acteens • Complete a preparation program for the missions trip • Serve at least one week on the assigned field plus transportation time to and from the field • Finance transportation, housing and expenses • Work with a local supervisor on the assigned field • Leader: Submit a summary and evaluation.

Activators Abroad All the Activators requirements, plus • Every team member a Christian • Every team member 16 years old or have completed 10th grade • Maximum of ten people, including two adults • Serve approximately two weeks • At least two Acteens need one year’s experience on an Activators team
