Learning Objective • By the end of the lesson, the student will be able to display an understanding of sorting records in a database in Excel by designing a database to track homes for sale and sorting it by square footage.
Definitions • Ascending = A-Z, 1-100, Dates oldest to most recent • Descending = Z-A, 100-1, Dates most recent to oldest • Key – One level within a sort • You can sort on a maximum of three keys in a single sort
Sort with different keys • Last Name Ascending • Make the second key State • Make the third key City
Assignment • On your own page 318 • Track homes for sale in your area • Find at least 15 homes • Enter them in the order that you find them • Sort them when you have all 15
