  2. Just how much is 1 billion? • 1 billion is 1,000,000,000 • It has 9 0’s! • That is a lot of digits!

  3. How long would it take you to count to it? • It would take you, counting 1 number a second, a billion seconds. • If you were counting 1 number a second then in a day you would count to 86400. • In 12 days, counting non - stop you would get to 1 billion!

  4. 0’s • All of those first numbers end in 0 • 0, 10, 100, 1000, 10000, 100000, 1000000, 10000000, 100000000, 1000000000 • Those are all the numbers that have 1 and 0 up to 1,000,000.

  5. When would you use a billion? • A billion is a large number, a very large number so it is not commonly used. • But you would need a billion if you were to count all of the people in the world • Or all of your skin cells

  8. What could you do with 1bil? • With 1 billion dollars you could buy pretty much whatever you wanted. • The average person makes 50 - 150k per year. Look at the size difference between the number. • 250,000 - 1,000,000,000. • So imagine the things you could do with 1 billion dollars.

  9. Things to do with 1 billion • If you had 1 billion dollars you should make a budget. • Maybe spent 5 million on charity. • Buy a nice house on a beach for 10 million. • Get your kids collage funds. • These are all ideas of what you could do with 1 billion dollars.
