  1. One of the world’s greatest winemakers, Michel Chapoutier tirelessly perfects the art of winemaking through truly terroir based wines. • Michel Chapoutier is widely recognized as one of the world’s greatest winemakers, translating the terroir of the Rhône Valley into some of the purist and greatest wines of the world. • A visionary and pioneer in biodynamic winemaking, his restless energy and unconditional commitment to quality have produced tremendous success, with the most 90+ point ratings of all Rhône producers and 15 “100 point” rated wines. • M Chapoutier wines are heralded for their complexity, finesse and longevity, and are consistently sought out by serious wine collectors and consumers. Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne2007 Variety: 100% Syrah from biodynamic vineyards Vineyards: Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne grows on three different types of soil: “Les Bessards” vineyard, of granite origins, it forms the “soul” of a good Hermitage wine. “Le Meal” vineyard, old alluvial terraces with gravel and rolled pebbles. And, “Les Greffieux”, limon with rolled stones. The combination of these three terroirs provide structure, power and complexity. Fermentation: The aging is performed in oak casks between 12 and 14 months. This gives woody aromas which are a component of the bouquet. Several rackings allow a slow and natural clarification. Aging: Entirely destemmed, the grapes ferment in open wooden vats. One to two daily treadings ensure good extraction. 92 pts This has a core of dark plum and mulled spice notes, while slightly edgy tobacco and olive notes flitter around the edges. There’s latent grip, with a smoldering charcoal hint on the finish. Drink now through 2014. –James Molesworth 93 pts. Wine & Spirits 90-93 pts Wine Advocate www.chapoutier.comwww.terlatowines.com
