ERMITA DE LA VIRGEN DEL ROSARIO • Is a neighbourhood known by the name of the Virgin of the Rosario who is venerated in his hermitage. It is the most ancient temple of the people and has been in use as parish when the parochial church has been in works. FAMOUS PEOPLE • ABATE HERVÁS Y PANDURO • Hervas y Panduro was a writer and philologist who was born in Horcajo de Santiago in 1735.His parents were Juan Garcia Hervas and Ines Panduro. They were poor peasants, Hervas y Panduro joined the Jesuits in Madrid in 1749. He studied philosophy, theology, mathematics and astronomy. In 1760 he was a priest. He traveled to Italy and he was living in Forli and then in Cesena. In 1783 he lived permanently in Rome. In 1798 he returned to Spain and four years later he returned to Italy where he lived until his death. EL VÍTOR • In 1854 Pope Pius IX declared to Mary Immaculate, conceived without stain of sin from conception.
