  1. Fall Semester is in Full Swing!! It began with work week at AY on August 19th and classes beginning on the 26th. The next week brought the Soybean Festival with the Community Picnic on September 3 with approximately 200 people enjoying “dinner on the grounds” music , and the annual Soybean Festvial Parade. The week of September 10-14 is Rush week. Fall initation will bring another milestone Alpha Upsilon’s history as the number of initiated brothers will pass 1000! Homecoming October 5th Theme: “Roarin’ Good Time AY activities on Saturday include Open House, Alumni/Active, mother’s Club meetings, luncheon and other activities on the Quad, and football game. The week of September 30 leading up to homecoming will include activities each day. (see UTM website) ***Congressman Ed Jones to be honored at ceremonies on October 4th! Information at the event can be found on the UTM Alumni Relations website.*** New Leadership in College of Agriculture & Applied Sciences With a new School Year beginning Brehm Hall has a new leader at the helm. Dr. Todd Winters has assumed the reins of CAAS, and is actively involved with UTM faculty, staff, students and community. Dr. Joey Melhorn has been named Interium Chairman, of the Department of Agriculture, Geosciences and Natural Resources. Dr. Melhorn is well respected among students, faculty and the agricultural community. Enrollment Continues to Increase While university enrollment has declined for the fall semester, the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources has surpassed 800 students! The Department is the second largest on campus. SEE YOU AT HOMECOMING!! October 5th
