Growing up she struggled trying to be the best • Her siblings were favored over her • Grew up with a father who abused her mother • Made her want change • “I must have first place or none,” stated from Mary. • She was often stereo typed by people because of her friendliness with men • She strived to get woman's rights equal to men's • Had limited formal schooling • Family Had financial issues • Young adult life-went homeless

  3. Early Life • Born April 27th 1759 • Had 2 sisters Everina and Eliza • Had an abusive father • Had lack off formal Schooling • Jane Arden-friend who she read with

Overcoming Inequality • Wrote the Thoughts on the Education of Daughters • A Vindication of the Rights of Women. • Addressed the legal, economic and educational disabilities of women • Ultimately argued- equal rights that are applied to men should include women • Inspired woman to achieve equality • Taught in a school- which led her to write • Didn’t live to see women's rights come to fruition
