  2. Introductions/welcome: • Each instructional leadership group from each school presents a brief overview on their present initiatives. How have you and your school leaders been assuring that nothing is left to chance at your school?

  3. Review Agenda together

  4. Year long essential question: How can we ensure that we close opportunity gaps for all our students, leaving nothing to chance, as we move from good to great?

  5. Content Objectives • Leaders will discuss the difference between achievement gaps and opportunity gaps. • Leaders will evaluate the Good to Great Diagnostic Tool • Leaders will consider options for Technical Assistance for the rest of this FY and possible summer institutes or back-to-school-institutes in Aug. based on presentations from Adrian Sandoval, Carmen Lopez, and Wendy Pacheco.

  6. Language Objectives • Leaders will discuss the difference between achievement gaps and opportunity gaps. • Leaders will read the diagnostic tool and discuss ideas gained from previewing the tool. • Leaders will listideas they could implement in their leadership teams back at their sites. • Leaders will participate in conversations based on information shared by Adrian, Carmen, and Wendy. • Leaders from each school will create an Existing State-Desired State Map for possible technical assistance from CESDP before September, 2001 to add to their EPSS/PDP.

  7. Significant Tasks • In pairs, discuss information from the Good to Great Diagnostic Tool listing ideas educators can use in schools. • In squares, share the information from the pairs. • Listen/view options available from CESDP associates for possible technical assistance. • Lunch • Create an “Existing State-Desired State Map” to get ideas about TA/PD

  8. Outcomes: • Define the roles CESDP associates can play to most effectively support your school’s EPSS and PDP. • A supportive materials list is created. • Share plans and possibilities. • Evaluations
