2. Episode 1: BAND CAMP • SETTING: Everybody is doing exercises and running on the track on the second day of band camp. Its august 2nd, and 92 degrees at 10 am. We are all fat, put of shape, and out of breath. • Gladney says: “Hey, ya’ll, you need to pick up your feet, come on let’s go. We want to do better than last year, and you shouldn’t have sat up in the Air Conditioner all summer. • Everybody else complains about the exasperating heat, being thirsty, and that Gladney “ain’t out here running, so he need to shut up” • ***I want to flash to the band hall Gladneyin his warm up’s, old band shirt, and fishing hat.*** • Gladney will start making his usual “pep speech” about how we should have been preparing for this because we knew it was coming instead of “sitting up in the AC.” He will then go on his typical sprawl about how he did his time and he will show THE LEG!!!! • Everybody will be shocked and disgusted, mouths wide open, and the ignorant people (Major and Dequan) laugh in the background.
