Explain why a Civil Rights movement grew in the USA in the 1950s and 1960s. • Introduction: • Brief description of the problems in the South – segregation, discrimination, KKK and explain how this contributed to a Civil Rights Movement. • Introduce the main protests… “There were a number of protests as part of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s such as…” [list the 5 protests]
For each protest, you need to cover these 3 sections. • Why did the protest happen? What were the problems? • What happened at the protest? • What impact did the protest have?
