Class Management • Set expectations ahead of time • Use your projector to explain apps step by step • MODEL MODEL MODEL-especially in small group setting! • Use Quietube for videos
Check in/check out system If there is an issue with an ipod, you know who to talk to about it. Check out by: magic number table shape name
Security • Just like a field trip, count your “babies” often • Enable the find feature so you can locate missing devices • Block or Lock the App store, internet and U-tube • Lock up your devices when not in use
App Management • Use an icon app on your center chart to let the group know which app to access • Use an icon picture on the table to let group know which app to be on
Put apps in folders by strategy group (spelling, long i, telling time..) • Keep current appsin the “tray” at the bottom
Put apps in folders by subject (math, reading…) • Put apps in folders by reading level
EARBUDS • Use cardboard to wrap the earbuds around to avoid tangling. • Label earbuds and ziploc bag for each child.
Add earbuds to your class supply list • Less cleaning and concern for germs. (We use these on desk top computers too.) • Store by table group or in the Daily 5 book boxes
I-nigma • Use as a quick way to get to a website • Post a video and use a QR code to get there • Engaging way to do math word problems • Differentiation made easy (post codes on different colors)
Teacher in your Pocket • Students can listen to your lesson as many times as they need to learn the concept. • You can differentiate lessons as needed
iKnow Phonics • iKnow Phonics- ABC’s , Vowels I, Vowels II, Consonants I, Consonants II • Differentation- Each application builds on the previous applications skills. Students can be assigned based on skill being taught or where there gap in instruction is. Students have a worksheet that they must complete that goes along with the skill the are practicing to ensure their understanding. Before going to the next application students must have completed certificates.
Sentence, Story, and Language Builder • These applications are an excellent to scaffold learning in the students reading and writing. You can receive tracking and progress reports as well as relevant app recommendations based on your students' activity.
