A long time agoin a galaxy far, far away….. Science fiction writers dreamt up a multitude of weird and wonderful answers to the host of medical problems suffered by the stars of their shows. They showed their vision of what the future of medicine would look like.
In Star trek they had tricorders, when I’m older; they’ll look at my body and make medicine just for me.
Total Recall had a full body scanner, in the future this will look inside me and work out what is going on, data will be sent straight to a data centre for analysis.
The sarcophagus in Stargate fixes your body when you are ill, I’ll use one, one day.
The film, Innerspace, was about little robots travelling round our bodies, Nanotechnology will mean people in clinical trials are monitored all the time, where ever they are.
R2D2 projected a holographic image of Princess Leia in Star Wars, doctors will check on us by coming to our homes, holographically.
And we will be able to stop testing on people altogether when we can use holographic simulation like in the amazing spiderman.
Data capturetechnologyof thefuture Holographic doctors visits daily Data transferred direct from nanobots in your body Advanced software simulation of trial outcomes
