  3. Flag of Puerto Rico • The Puerto Rican flag has red and white stripes. It has a blue triangle with a white star along the left side.

  4. The people of Puerto Rico There are about 1,000 people per square mile. There is a cultural and racial mix of people from Spain, Africa, Scotland, and Ireland as well as indigenous peoples.

  11. Religion • Churches of many denominations can be found throughout the island. These include Catholic(85%), Protestant, and a small Jewish community. Some islanders practice espiritísmo and Santeria.
