  1. Is the coming of Christ At Hand ? “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” 2 Peter 3:10

  2. Takes prophecies already fulfilled and applies them to our day. Declares that Jesus will return during this generation

  4. The Bible teaches… 1. Jesus will never set foot on earth again 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 v. 16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: v.17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Jesus will never set foot on earth again John 5:28-29 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. 1 Cor. 15:51-52 “shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye”

  7. The Bible teaches… 3. Jesus is now reigning as King on the throne of David Acts 2:29-31 “he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne.” His reign will cease at His coming 1 Cor. 15: 24-26 “for he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.”

  8. The Bible teaches… 4. The kingdom of Christ is spiritual not material John 18:36 “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.”

  9. The prophecies were fulfilled when the church was established 4 things Hal Lindsey predicted: 1. Jews would have to be a nation May 14, 1948 - David Ben-Gurion 2. Jews dwelling in Jerusalem 3. Temple have to be standing 4. Roman empire have to be revived All four were there in Acts 2

  10. Acts 2:29-30 29. Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;” Psalms 132:11

Important points • “Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” Matt. 24:34 • False teachers say “generation” started when the Jews became a nation - May 14, 1948 • Generation is 40 years = May 14, 1988 • Jesus did not return • Dome of the Rocks stands on Temple site • Roman empire not revived

  12. Important points • “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” Mark 13:32 • No man knows • Some people set the dates and times • Displays their ignorance.

  14. Why do men Make false predictions ? 2 Peter 2:1-3 1. But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3. ¶ And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

  15. Is the coming of Christ At Hand ? “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.” Deuteronomy 18:22
