USES • Used to control harmful organisms like mosquitoes, bees, wasps, or that can cause allergic reaction. • Prevent sickness in humans that could be caused by mould food or diseased produce • Used in grocery stores and food storage facilitate to manage rodents and insects that infest food such as grain.
ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECT • Causes water pollution, air pollution, soil pollution, • It affects many other things like species, air, bottom sediments and food, plants etc. • Cause of depletion of ozone layer • Some pesticides contribute to global warming
HEALTH EFFECTS • Pests can present changes to consumers bystanders, or workers during manufacture, transport or during and after use. • Causes illness.
COMSUMERS • Pesticides are used to kill pests on food crops but are dangerous to people who consume those foods. • These concerns are one reason for the organic food movement.
ALTERNATIVES TO PESTICIDES • BIOLOGICAL CONTROL of pests can reduce the consumption of pesticides to minimum. • The eggs of pests can be destroyed by the MECHANICAL METHOD. • CHEMOSTERLIZATION technique has been adopted.
CONCLUSION • Use of pesticides should be at minimum level. • Biological control methods should be practiced. • Thus, environment can be saved from agrochemical pollution.
