42 7th Bowl And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice outof the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!”. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth,so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and greatBabylon came in remembrance before God, togive unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.Andevery island fled away and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weightof a talent (50kg): and men blasphemed God because of theplague of hail; for the plague thereof was exceedingly great. Division Six 43 The Fall of Babylon AFTER THIS I saw another angel come down from heaven, havinggreat power; and the earth was lightened with hisglory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying”“Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become thehabitation of demons, and has become the dwelling place ofevery foul spirit, and a prison to every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earthhave committedfornication with her, and the merchants of the earth arewaxed rich through the abundance of herdelicacies.” And I heard another voice from heaven, saying:“Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, andthat you receive not of her plagues. For her sinshave reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.Reward her evenas she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she has filled fill to her double. How much she has glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her; for she says in her heart: ‘I sita queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.’ Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for the wrath of Almighty God is upon her.And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall wail over her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, standing afar off for thefear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour has your judgment come.’ (Continued…)
44 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buys their merchandise any more: the merchandise ofgold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all your wood, and all manner of vessels of ivory, and allmanner of vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron; and cinnamon, and incenses, andointments, andfrankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, andwheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. And the fruits that your soul lusted after are departed from you, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from you, and you shall find them no more at all. The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shallstand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, andsaying: ‘Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, andpurple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, andpearls! For in one hour such great wealth was desolated.’And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying: ‘What city is like unto this great city!’ And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying: ‘Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that hadships in the sea! For in one hour is she made desolate.’Rejoice over her, you heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets; for God has avenged you on her.” And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast itinto the sea, saying, “Thus with violence shall that great city Babylonbe thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.” And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and pipers, andtrumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsmen, of whatsoevercraft he be, shall be found anymore in thee: and the soundofa millstone shall beheard no more in them. And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in you;and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in you:for your merchants were the great men of the earth; for by your sorceries were allnations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, andof all that were slain upon the earth. Division Seven 45 Rejoicing in Heaven AFTER THISI heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying: “Hallelujah!Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God.For true and righteous are His judgments, for He has judged the greatwhore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged theblood of His servants upon her.” And again they said: “Hallelujah! And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell downandworshipped God that sat on the throne, saying: “Amen; Hallelujah.” And a voice came out of the throne, saying: “Praise our God,all you His servants, and you that fear Him,both small and great.” Gathered to Armageddon And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out ofthe mouth ofthe dragon, and out of the mouth of thebeast, and out of the mouthof the false prophet. For they are the spirits of demons, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of thewhole world, to gather them to the battle of that greatday of God Almighty. And He gathered them together into a place called inthe Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
46 Great Feast And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and hecried with a loudvoice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven: “Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of themthat sit on them; and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, bothsmall and great.” Second Coming And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He sittingupon it is called ‘Faithful and True’.And in righteousness He does judge and make war.His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He himself. And He was clothed with a garment dipped in blood: and His nameis called The Word of God.And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He shouldsmite the nations; and He shall rule them with a rod of iron; and Hetreads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.And He has on his garment, and on His thigh a name written: ‘KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS’. 47 Harvest And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, who had power overfire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying: “Thrust in your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of thevine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.” Winepress And the angel thrust in his sickle upon the earth, and gathered the vine of theearth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrathof God. Jerusalem And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood came outof the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs (300km).
