  9. The Arts-Based Project • Using arts to tell a different story • Dispel the stereotypes of youth from Regent Park • The project is about social action – youth taking action • Presenting here in Chicago • Art show in Toronto planned by the youth where community and media will be invited

  21. Shae I started at the Bottom so nothing’s ever been Fair, seen days my Family’s struggling livin’ off Welfare. It seems like we’re Given one option, to sell dope And pounds, and I pray for The day I go to Sleep without any gun Sounds. Where I’m from you’re taught to act Tough and mean. People on the corners Everyday selling crack to Friends. Just a young kid just Tryna’ ball and have fun while People in the hood sell crack and Shoot guns.
