Classroom Conversations Revolutionary War You will construct a dialogue between colonists living in North America near the start of the Revolutionary War The following roles will be represented : • A rebel / patriot male militiaman • A rebel / patriot male continental soldier • A loyalist / Tory male who joined the British army • A neutral woman with a family • A rebel / patriot woman

Militia Continental Army British Army Sons of Liberty Continental Congress Lexington & Concord Battle of Bunker Hill “Common Sense” King George III Patriot Loyalist Strategy George Washington Native Americans “No taxation without representation” Include 3-5 additional, relevant names, events, or terms of your choosing Classroom Conversations Revolutionary War HERE’S YOUR CHALLENGE: You must use as many of these terms as possible!

Classroom Conversations Revolutionary War - GRADING Inclusion of the roles: worth 5 points per role (up to 25pts) • A rebel / patriot male militiaman • A rebel / patriot male continental soldier • A loyalist / Tory male who joined the British army • A neutral woman with a family • A rebel / patriot woman Use of history terms, reflecting a full understanding (up to 20pts): • 20 terms used accurately = 20 points • 18 terms used accurately = 18 points • 15 terms used accurately = 15 points Quality/coherency of your dialogue = 5 points (in other words, does it make sense?)

  4. Classroom Conversations Revolutionary War You have NO TIME TO LOSE!!! Get to work! You will have Mon-Tues-Wed to work on these! Make sure you’re working at home as well!!! Dialogues will be read in class when we return from fall break. These will be graded!
