Fame was built • Fame Recording Studios was built in 1959 by Rick Hall, Tom Stanford, and Billy Sherill
Carter Clarence • Fame’s star Carter Clarence and one of his songs ‘Patches’ were nominated for a Grammy Award in 1972 and was the hit song for quite awhile.
Wilson Pickett • Wilson Pickett came to Fame Recording Studios with many songs including ‘Land of 1000 dances’ and ‘Mustang Sally’ and he was one of Fame’s most popular stars in the song land of 1000 dances there is a dancing alligator.
Dixie Chicks • The Dixie Chicks went to Fame and sang a duet with Bruce Miller another one of Fame’s talented singers.
Holly Mosley • Holly Mosley was a country singer from Mobile. When Holly was nine she was chosen from the crowd to sing the national anthem at the Mobile Bay Bears Baseball game. Then when Holly was eleven she entered a national singing competition and won second place!
Ray Charles • Ray Charles went to Fame and started going blind when he was five and went completely blind by seven. He played piano and wrote songs.
