WISCV Strategic Priorities 2011-12 Sara Fernandez, National Committee Chair • 1) Develop the regional networks and continue to support regional reps as they requireto ensure good representation of workers - More institutions on the mailing list - Regional chairs in place - Annual survey • 2) Consolidate the two annual events: Impact training weekend and Summer AGM gathering. - Over 40 universities represented, very positive delegate feedback from both workers and students - Successful committee recruitment • 3) Continue to develop relationships with other organisations in the sector to improve support for student volunteering - VE - NUS - Impact / Student Hubs - NCCPE

Fiona Addison – Vice Chair • Consulted the WiSCV membership on fees and organisational structure • Organised National Workers Get-Together • Represented WiSCV on the England Volunteering Development Council (EVDC)
Judy Challis - Regional Networks • Most Regions now have a Chair or share the role • Regional Minutes now published on the website • More flexibility as to which regional meetings are attended • Maybe go to a meeting which is more geographically convenient • Maybe go to a meeting which is more convenient timewise • To this end we ask that Chairs decide dates and venues amongst their own regional members but then tell the whole database when it is to be, so others can join you if they wish.
Katharine Broomfield -Website and IT Website: • Simplified look • Minutes of meetings available online (regional meetings & national committee meetings) • ‘News & Events’ page updated more regularly • Respond to members queries & suggestions Other: • Attended & contributed to committee meetings • Actively promote WiSCV at conferences & events • Organised a ‘workers dinner’ for workers at Impact 2012 conference • Currently updating the ‘New Members Information Pack’
Amy Anderson, Communications • Managed the WISCV mailbase and communication network • Designed and distributed surveys to membership • Administrated bookings for Workers’ Gathering • Minuted National Committee meetings Priorities 2012-13 • Continue to maintain strong email communications network • Collate most common questions and answers and publish to website • Regularly collected and relay news, policy and information relevant to Student Volunteering and distribute to network

Elections • Will be held for all positions in July 2012 • Specifically looking for a website and IT officer • Chat to us about what being on the committee entails
May 2012 Survey Results Volunteering England 59% of respondents are looking to renew their membership Most valued benefits: VE newsletter, online resources and policy updates
Student Volunteering Week • 85% of respondents would like SVW to continue • February was the most popular time for it to be • Most valued SVW resources: branding, publicity and promotional freebies
WISCV Support • How could WISCV support SVW? • More proactive promotion in order to raise awareness on a national scale. • More proactive communication with the workers, facilitate sharing through the mailbase • How could WISCV improve its support to the network? • More resources on the website • Help to keep up the profile of Student Volunteering on a national scale
