More than 40% of households in NC cannot afford to rent even the most basic unit. • To address the need for affordable housing the NCHC: • ADVOCATES at the GA daily when in session and conducts listening sessions during the rest of the year. • EDUCATES about the need and available resources via the website, educational workshops, national and state conferences, and daily phone conversations with callers • Successes include the continuation of the Housing Trust Fund • In 2013 will allow for the development of 33 new affordable housing complexes in NC • Supporters include CDC employees, developers, banks, nonprofits, and others invested in making affordable housing available to all North Carolinians • Your financial support will ensure the advocacy, networking, and educational opportunities provided by the NCHC will continue to bring more affordable housing to the state each year.
