In French, there are two words that mean a/an. Both can refer to people or things.
Use unwith masculine singular nouns. Use unewith feminine singular nouns.
Rally Robin! • Work with your partner to add masculine singular nouns to the column on the left and feminine singular nouns to the column on the right.
We use deswith plural nouns. In general, to make a noun plural, we an ansat the end of the word. This final letter is not pronounced when you say the word.
What is the plural form? • un élève • desélèves • une carte • descartes • un poster • des posters

What is the plural form? • un DVD • des DVD
What is the plural form? • un lecteur de DVD • deslecteurs de DVD
NOTE: Un, Une, and Des become dein a negative sentence (or d’before a vowel sound: a,e,i,o,u,h).
