- The Ayahuasca Foundation The Ayahuasca Foundation is dedicated to the preservation and continuation of the ancient science of plant spirit medicine. It is our mission to guard the sacred tree of spiritual knowledge that has grown in the Amazon Rainforest for millenia, and replant the seeds of spiritual awareness so that new trees of forgotten wisdom will again grow throughout the world. Hope fills our hearts with a vision of the earth filled with compassion and respect, but changes must be made… soon. The Indigenous Cultures of the Amazon have been gradually blending into the invading western cultures, and their knowledge of the plants and animals, as well as their philosophy of who we are and how we should live, is in grave danger of being lost to the false hope of technological materialism. One of the oldest medical traditions in the world may soon be replaced by pharmaceutical capitalism. Many communities have already lost their local healers, and the spiritual aspects of healing are not being taught to the younger generations. Two Week Healing Retreat: $1650 Our Ayahuasca Retreats begin in Iquitos, the world’s largest jungle city, inaccessible by roads due to its location deep within the Amazon Rainforest. An assistant healer from the Ayahuasca Foundation staff meets retreat participants at the airport in Iquitos and accompanies them to a hotel where the group will gather and have dinner together. Then in the morning, the group travels deeper into the forest to the AF Jungle Camp where they are
treated by an authentic indigenous healer, called a curandero, who provides various treatments and helps each participant navigate the spiritual dimensions accessible in ayahuasca healing ceremonies. The science of plant spirit medicine, curanderismo, is one of the oldest medical traditions in the world, capable of healing afflictions and bringing us back to a state of harmony in our lives. Once retreat participants reach the jungle camp, they’ll settle in to their comfortable accommodations and get ready for their first ayahuasca ceremony. Three Week Healing Retreat: $2350 The three week ayahuasca retreat is a journey into healing the body, mind, and spirit. Participants spend 19 days at the Ayahuasca Foundation’s jungle camp, partaking in 9 traditional ayahuasca ceremonies led by the shipibo curandero don Ronor. In addition to the ayahuasca ceremonies, participants will also receive plant treatments specific to their afflictions. This retreat is not just for healing physical, mental, and emotional problems, it is also a great way to explore the self and understand the true nature of reality. The ayahuasca ceremonies allow each participant to take greater control of their lives, their thoughts, their actions, and their overall health. The visions that are possible within ayahuasca ceremonies provide participants with the opportunity to play an active role in the healing process, confronting their negativity, past traumas, or possible roots of their illnesses. The plant treatments further enhance this process, working to boost the immune system, balance the digestive system, purify the nervous system, cleanse the circulatory system, and heal the emotional body. About The Foundation The Ayahuasca Foundation was conceived in the spring of 2008 by Carlos Tanner, an American and long- time student of curanderismo. The Foundation supports the preservation of indigenous wisdom and culture. We offer healing retreats and educational courses focused on ayahuasca, the powerful rainforest medicine used for millennia by indigenous healers of the Peruvian Amazon. The Ayahuasca Foundation provides comprehensive information on ayahuasca and plant spirit medicine, and information on the various ayahuasca retreats and programs available for travelers.
