Introduction of Department Department was established in 1991 with following Aims and Objectives - • To propagate the knowledge of Science of Living, a multidimensional system of education, based on Indian Philosophy and Culture. • To impart Training of Science of Living in the field of Education and Corporate Sectors. • To explain the benefits of the application of Preksha Meditation scientifically. • To carry out scientific research on the therapeutic application/effects of Yoga and Preksh Meditation. (SOL, PM & Yoga) • Eligibility - Graduation with minimum 50% • Entrance test followed by personal interview • Formation of Merit M.A.\M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology • Eligibility - Graduation with minimum 50% • Entrance test followed by personal interview • Formation of Merit PG Diploma in Preksha Yoga Therapy • Eligibility - B.Sc. With Biology/Graduate and M.A.\M.Sc. (SOL, PM & Yoga) • Entrance test followed by personal interview • Formation of Merit Certificate Course in Yoga and Preksha Meditation • Eligibility -10+2 Ph.D. Programme • Eligibility - Masters degree with minimum 55% • RET (Research Entrance Test) • Personal Interview • Formation of Merit

Research Facilities in Department Two Laboratory in the Department Physiology and Psychology consisting many equipments, kits and Tests like – • NCV Machine • EMG Machine • 32 channel EEG Machine • Polyrite • Semi-auto- analyzer • Spyrometer • Multi-para Monitor • Biofeedback instruments • Psychological Tests, Tools, Inventories, Questionnaires, Instruments etc.

Special Contributions through Researches to Society • Therapeutic applications of SOL, P.M. and Yoga for psychosomatic and neurotic patients. • Neurological, Cardiopulmonary and hematological efficacy of Preksha Meditation • Rehabilitation of Juvenile delinquents and mentally retarded persons. • Rehabilitation of drug-addicts, homicide and prisoners. • Value Education. • Integrated Personality Development. • Development of emotional quotient and spiritual quotient. • Stress management through Preksha Meditation

MARCH 06-08, 2009. • National Seminar on “Promotion Of Parapsychological Abilities And Consciousness Through Meditation” Sponsored by: Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi. January 19-21, 2012.

Other achievements/activities of the Department • Refresher Course on “Value Education and Yoga” Sponsored by University Grant Commission (UGC) November 25 to 11 December-2005. • National Preksha Week January17 to21, 2012. • National Workshop on Applied Science of Living and EducationOrganized Jointly by Dept. of SOL , PM & Yoga and Dept. of Education (Supported by SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Women Coaching Cell) September10 to17 2012. • A documentary film on department and university was telecast by DD News in ‘Mehnat Rang Laegi’ programme on 26 May, 2008.
