Introduction • The TAFE Teacher Program Diary (TPD) replaces the electronic Establishment Control (eEC) system based on Microsoft Excel Workbooks. • It enables all TAFE teachers to submit time tables for approval and into the Timetable Information System (TIS) and to the Lattice payroll system.

  3. “Old vs The New” EXCEL WORKBOOK: • Cumbersome • Unreliable • Complicated • Only available at work • Not available via the Portal

  4. New Solution • Vastly improved • Streamlined - Time Saving • Easy to use • Fully compliant with teaching awards • Simplified workflow • Integrates with DET Portal • Also available outside TAFE • Fail safe measures

  5. SI Implementation Plan • Implementation of TPD to begin in Term 1, 2009 • Implementation completed end of Term 2, 2009 • New TPD System is still undergoing testing and some issues are being identified and resolved • It is planned that the eEC workbook will not be supported beyond Term 2, 2009 • It is expected that all Institutes will be using the new solution fully from Term 3, 2009

  6. User Support • Institute HR – TPD Section is responsible for the first level of support • Technical and Systems issues will continue to be supported by HR Corporate Support but escalated via Institute TPD Unit. • TPD team will liaise with the TPD programming team to resolve technical issues and report solutions back to super users and champions as appropriate
