PASSENGER ADDRESS (PA) SYSTEMD/O This module describes the Passenger Address (PA) system.
From the cockpit, PA announcement can be initiated: • Via the Radio Management Panel (RMP) and the communication devices (boomset, microphone or oxygen mask) linked to the Audio Management Unit (AMU), • And via the cockpit handset. • From the cabin, PA announcement can be initiated: • From the cabin handset installed at each cabin crew station and in each crew rest compartment, • And from the prerecorded announcement system or the boarding music system via the related FAP page.
OXYGEN MASK HAND MIKE PA P/B VOLUME LEVEL KNOB BOOMSET PA initiated from the RMP and boomset, hand mike or oxygen mask, are direct PA distributed to all cabin and crew rest loudspeakers. To start a PA, the pilot must press and hold the related pushbutton on the RMP. The PA function is switched off as soon as the PA pushbutton is released. The PA volume can be adjusted from the respective knob.
Cockpit and cabin handsets are similar, so the PA announcement from the handset are done the same way from the cockpit and from the cabin.
Any type of PA announcement can be done from the handset: • PRIO PA, which override any other PA in progress, • Direct PA, to all cabin and crew rest loudspeakers, • PA ALL the all cabin loudspeakers (not in the crew rests), • PA to specific deck(s), • PA to specific cabin zone(s), • And PA to specific room(s). • In any case, the Push To Talk (PTT) key must be pressed and held before speaking.
From the cockpit, to make a DIRECT Passenger Address (DIRECT PA) using any communication device connected to Audio Management Unit (AMU), the pilot must: Press and maintain pressed the PA P/B on the Radio Management Panel (RMP). Press two times the PA P/B on the RMP. Press and maintain pressed the CALL P/B on the RMP. Press one time the PA P/B on the RMP to start the announcement and press again the PA P/B to stop the announcement. No, chose another answer. Yes, you’ re right. A DIRECT Passenger Address (PA) announcement done from the cockpit handset has a higher priority than: A DIRECT PA done by any communication device connected to the Audio Management Unit (AMU). A DIRECT PA done from cabin Handset. A PRIOrity PA done from cockpit Handset. A PRIO PA done from a cabin handset. No, you have a second chance. Very good. After a dial code was selected on a cabin handset, the cabin crew must: Press the Passenger Address (PA) P/B to make the PA announcement. Press the Conference (CONF) P/B to make the PA announcement. Press the Push To Talk (PTT) button to make the PA announcement. Press the PRIOrity (PRIO) button to make the PA announcement. No, try again. Yes, that’s right.
