Legislators are looking for (and need) good information Legislators will listen and learn but most have very little health care knowledge or experience Legislators listen and learn best when issues are framed objectively, with sound science and patient safety as top priorities. NO sales pitch. Physicians are respected by legislators – remember this! What I Learned as a State Senator The relationship between policy and politics is incredibly complex. Be patient.
