Compound sentences. LESSON 1. COMPOUND SENTENCES. A compound sentence is two sentences joined by a conjunction. Conjunctions And – I have a kitten and a puppy. But – I like the color green, but pink is better. Or – Do you want chips or a pickle?

  9. Combining sentences • When you combine two sentences you DO NOT REPEAT ANY WORDS! • Jack is tall. Jack is thin. • Jack is tall and thin. • You may play ball. You may not jump rope. • You may play ball, but not jump rope.
