DIN designation, SIMOREG The simplest way of identifying the drive unit data is using the DIN designation on the rating plate of the old drive unit • Exxx/yyy: • E: Drive unit for connection to a 1-phase supply, • xxx: Output rated DC voltage • yyy: Rated output DC current • The maximum possible DC output voltage Vdmax depends on the • input voltage available and is given by: • Vline supply * 0.8 for 1Q and Vline supply * 0.65 for 4Q • (valid for 5% line supply undervoltage and • 4% voltage drop across the commutating reactor) • Dxxx/yyy: • D: Drive unit for connection to a 3-phase supply • xxx: Output rated DC voltage • yyy: Rated output DC current • The maximum possible DC output voltage Vdmax depends on the • input voltage available and is given by : • Vdmax = Vline supply * 1.2 for 1Q and Vline supply * 1.05 for 4Q • (valid for 5% line supply undervoltage and • 4% voltage drop across the commutating reactor) Rating plate explanation SIMOREG

Retrofitting machine tool drives • Main spindle drives • 6RA26/27..6D/GV50/V51/V54/V55/V56/V57 • According to the DIN designation select an 6RA70 with • the appropriate current rating and voltage class • For V51/V56/V57, include option K00 – terminal expansion • Feed drives • e.g. 6RA26...6MV30/DV30 old unit could provide 400% current for 200 ms • Therefore select 6RA70 with twice the rated current with respect to • the old unit, or retrofit using AC drive technology • Transistor controller 6RB20/B21, check the required dynamic performance of the drive • If necessary, retrofit using an AC servomotor and drive converter Rating plate explanation SITOR
