2. Summary Night Creatures is a book about animals that come out at night. They are called nocturnal animals. It tells about how they live and how they find their food. It also tells you about their senses, and their diets. A lot of nocturnal animals see very good in the dark.

3. My Favorite Part My favorite part of the book was when it talked about the tree-dwelling tarsier. The tarsier lives in Asia and Africa. It curls up in a circle during the day to sleep, and their cry sounds like a human. It is also called a “bush baby” because the cry sounds like a real baby. The diet of a tarsier is fruit, eggs, and bugs.

4. What I Learned I learned that bears are nocturnal and they go into towns and search in trash cans for food. I also learned that animals used echo location. Echo location is when animals send out sound waves and it bounces off prey and back to them. The pupils of nocturnal animals are not round. Instead they are little lines that can let in a lot of light.

5. Recommendation I recommend Night Creatures for 3rd– 5th graders who like to learn about animals that are active at night. I also recommend it for anyone who is interested in animals digging in trash cans. It tells where you could find some animals when hunting, and about birds that can not fly. It’s also good for someone who is interested in going in to animal science.
