  2. DO NOW: BE SILENT 1. Get your pen and other class materials out. Put your bag UNDER the chair. Wait patiently after the DO NOW to ask questions. 2. On the index card, answer only ( Don’t copy): • Your name, address, phone number, email • Spanish only parents/guardians? Yes or No • Class Schedulewith names of teachers ( include advisory) • Other activities: ex. Swimming team,YAP • Other concerns: ex. Can’t see well, allergies, bladder issues etc.

Don’t bother others during that time. • I will tell you when you can ask questions during that time. Silently raise your hand, wait patiently. • Voice level 0: Silent

  5. 3 Basic Rules Listen to Ms.Ng 100% ( attention, participation, studying) Keep it clean.

  6. Group time practice 1.Choose a rule. 2.Discuss how this would look like in the class by giving examples. 3. Discuss why this is important. 4. Create a poster. 5. Follow rules for group time

  7. Group Presentation • 2-3 groups, randomly present. • Summary of what you did in your group. • Reflection: How do you feel? What are your thoughts?

  16. Science Talk begins • Talk to a partner about your predictions and rationale. • Develop sentences telling what the object is, a description of the object, and something you learned about it.

  17. Reflection • How was your work today? Did you do your best? Why or why not? • How was your work ethic today? Were you on-task, focused? Why or why not? • How do you feel about ES, so far?
