  2. Critter Supplies • Nuts, cork, small rock, paper or card stock. • 1” x 1” piece of white card stock. • Three 6” pipe cleaners. • Colorful beads • 6” x 3” colorful cloth. • 12” string, yarn • or ribbon. www.build-it-yourself.com

  3. Critter Head • Let’s start by making a head. www.build-it-yourself.com

  4. Big Soulful Eyes • Draw a set of BIG eyes from a piece of white card board or foam rubber. Add a touch of color. ½” www.build-it-yourself.com

  5. Big Soulful Eyes • Much of the personality of your critter is in the eyes. • Make them carefully! • Make them big! ? ½” www.build-it-yourself.com

  6. Air Heads • Try clever combinations of using paper cones to make head shapes. www.build-it-yourself.com

  7. Air Heads • Try making a head from plain paper or card stock. • First draw a face and color the hair. 1½” 4” Cut Hair • Cut slits in the top so you can bend the hair. www.build-it-yourself.com

  8. Air Heads • Wrap the paper in the form of a cone. • A 6” pipe cleaner will serve as a neck. • Tape it all together! Tape Pipe Cleaner www.build-it-yourself.com

  9. Do a Due • Now let’s make some hair. • Wind about 10 loops of yarn around 3 fingers. • Tie the string in the center. www.build-it-yourself.com

  10. Do a Due • Cut the 2 loops. • Viola … you’ve got a head of hair!!! www.build-it-yourself.com

  11. Do a Due • Glue the hair on your head head and give it a hair cut. • Now let’s make the body. www.build-it-yourself.com

  12. Critter Body • Twist three 6” pipe cleaners together in the center. Bend the arms and legs out. www.build-it-yourself.com

  13. Critter Body • Cut out a 6” x 3” piece of colorful cloth. www.build-it-yourself.com

  14. Critter Body • Bend the 6” x 3” cloth in the middle. You’ll have a 3” square. www.build-it-yourself.com

  15. Critter Body • At the bend, cut out a small hole for the neck. www.build-it-yourself.com

  16. Critter Body • Cut out a shirt. www.build-it-yourself.com

  18. Critter Body • Put it on the pipe cleaner skeleton. www.build-it-yourself.com

  19. Critter Body • Roll the neck pipe cleaner so you can glue your hard head on. • Bend the ends of the arms and legs to make hands and feet. www.build-it-yourself.com

  20. Critter Body • Bend the tail back so your critter can stand on 2 legs and its tail. www.build-it-yourself.com

  21. Critter Body • Tie a belt around your shirt. www.build-it-yourself.com

  22. Critter Body • Bend the ends of your arms and legs • You could glue some shoes or hands on. www.build-it-yourself.com

  23. Critters • Glue the head on your body and put it in your contraption. www.build-it-yourself.com
