Project Overview • Business Objectives • Alignment of Billing and Electronic Health Record (BEHR) toward meaningful use as defined by the HITECH Act. • Increase functionality and workflow of BEHR in order to prepare for interfacing with the state laboratory division’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as well as private laboratories. • Increase revenue recovery by enhancing electronic claiming from BEHR. • Train all public health office staff on new version of BEHR. • Technical Objectives • Create requirement and configuration documents. • Implement upgraded EHR application in test environment. • Develop test plan and scripts. Execute test scripts in test environment. Track and fix defects. • Upgrade BEHR EHR application in production.
