Assignments: • All assignments should have the proper heading: Name, Date, Period. • All assignments are due at the beginning of your class period. • It is one letter grade off each day an assignment is late. 6. After-School Program: •I am available to help students after school on Wednesdays until 4 PM. •Students can stop in and get some organizational tips, fine-tune an assignment or project, make up missed work due to an absence or just get a little extra support with a difficult concept. •Students do not have to ask to attend. All they need to do is arrive by 3:00.

  7. Questions About Grades: •Both parents and students can (and should) monitor grades on eSembler. •Remember that eSembler is an active grade book. ˚It is not an official report card; it changes daily as new grades are entered. ˚It is not a personal judgment regarding yourchild’s abilities. • Grades are earned, not given. • Please ask your student about missing assignments, incomplete assignments, or low I grades before you contact me.

  8. How to Help Your Child Succeed: •Make sure they are using their agenda. •Ask to see their completed homework assignments. •Have students organize their backpacks at the end of the week. •Look through World Geography notebook (and notebooks for other classes) with them on a regular basis. •Look for these qualities in their work organization, effort, elaboration, completeness, critical thinking, and creativity.

  9. Causes for Concern: •A chaotic binder (or backpack) with papers sticking out, rumpled or ripped papers, or papers crammed in the front pocket (or bottom of bag) rather than in the rings. •Unfinished assignments; assignments with incomplete answers; assignments that lack evidence of creativity, enthusiasm, or pride in his/her own work.
