AMANDA JONES Graduate Woman of Excellence PhD candidate in Computer Science Past Present Future What are you working on and why are you passionate about it? How might your work make an impact in the future? What was your path before coming to MIT? • Answer as you wish...here are some suggestions: • - Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada • - Raised near Princeton, NJ • - Undergrad in Math at MIT 2003 • - Study abroad in England and France • - Started Grad school at MIT in 2004 • Add interesting anecdotes • I grew up without a TV and can ride a unicycle! Amazing possible application in: - Sed tristique, erat eget tempor sodales - Suspendisse leo Sed - Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique - Ac turpis egestas Describe anything that you have worked on. It can be either research work, an extracurricular activity, an outside initiative. It is great if you have VISUALS to help describe these (graphs, charts, images, results, pictures of tools you work with, cells, robots, etc) I study where people look in images. I use an eye tracker to find out where people look in images and then learn a model to predict where people will look. What are your plans after graduate school? Why did you choose to go to graduate school in your field?
