SUMMER CAMP ADVENTURE CLUB Building Excitement Constructing Cars
Engineers at Work Aligning experiences with our summer theme, “Building Excitement”, and focusing on the engineering component of STEM, the summer campers enjoyed planning, designing, and constructing cars. At the Adventure Club, we strive to strengthen children’s engineering skills to make problem solving and critical thinking a “habit of mind” for all children. Moving through the engineering design process, children were involved in the following: • Asking (What is the problem?) • Imagining (What are some solutions?) • Planning (What will we need to solve problem?) • Creating (Following the plan and creating the solution.) • Improving (Modifying the design to make it better.)
Building Cars Racing them to see who built the fastest car . . . and then improving their car designs to makethem go faster!
