And when My servants ask thee about Me, say: ‘I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right way.’ The concept of nearness to Allah; the right path Chapter 2, Verse 187
The key message of the verse Focussing on the words سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى ( my servants) andعَنِّى(Me), Huzur (aba) explained that this verse gives the believers two glad tidings 1. Nearness to Allah 2. Acceptance of prayers The true achievement of fasting is that we develop such a sound and robust comprehension of the existence of Allah that no other attraction can distract us from Allah
وَٱلَّذِينَ جَـٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَہۡدِيَنَّہُمۡ سُبُلَنَاۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمَعَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ ‘And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways. And verily Allah is with those who do good’ The concept of nearness to Allah; the right path Chapter 29, Verse 70
Huzur (aba) explained the Hadith When Ramadan arrives, the gates of Paradise are opened, and the gates of hell are locked up and satan is put in chains • Huzur (aba) explained that Allah can reward acts of virtuousness manifold but in the month of Ramadan, the blessings of Allah know no boundaries at all • In Ramadan, not only is one’s potential to do good enhanced but the reward is highly increased, to make it possible to attain a highly elevated spiritual position • Which is beyond the reach of Satan. So that Satan can not tempt and deviate the righteous from the right path. (Bukhari, Muslim) Huzur (aba) said, “Aim to reach a spiritual level during Ramadan that is beyond the reach of Satan”.
Huzur (aba) explained the Hadith “Allah, the Lord of Honour and Glory says: All other deeds of man are for himself, but his fasting is purely for Me and I shall reward him for it. “The fast is a shield. When any of you is fasting he should eschew loose talk and noisy exchanges. Should anyone revile him or seek to pick a quarrel with him, he should respond with: “I am observing a fast.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
Huzur (aba) explained the Hadith “By Him in whose hands is the life of Muhammad, the breath of one who is fasting is purer in the sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk. “One who fasts experiences two joys: he is joyful when he breaks his fast, and he is joyful by virtue of his fast when he meets his Lord.”.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
Huzur (aba) explained the Hadith If one does not eschew falsehood and false conduct, Allah has no need that he should abstain from eating and drinking • Fasting should enhance both our words and our deeds • Acceptance of fasting by Allah is conditional to good deeds • One must supplicate and seek Allah’s blessings in this blessed month of Ramadan (Bukhari)
Huzur (aba) said that it concerns him that some people are unable to say five obligatory Prayers A word of warning! Huzur (aba) challenged that how can we supplicate to Allah for nearness, if we are not regular in namaz!
The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said The Promised Messiah said that in the month of Ramadan Allah wants us to seek His nearness with prayers, increase in faith, so that we are successful. Huzur (aba) explained that the real prayer is to attain the nearness of Allah. Once the nearness of Allah is achieved, all desires of a persons will be automatically met.
