  1. An Enemy of the People: Debate • Which is most responsible for what goes wrong in the town? • Capitalism • Democracy • Propaganda • Environmental issues • Spineless Citizenry • Tom’s Ineffective Communication

Directions • As a group come up with one main argument and at least three textual supports for that argument. • Each group will have 2-3 minutes to make their first argument. • Each group will then have 2 minutes to come up with a rebuttal. • Groups will then have the chance to share their rebuttals.

  3. Rules: • We don’t want this debate to end up like the town meeting in the play! • DO NOT completely shut-down each other’s ideas. • You’re wrong! • That’s stupid! • Did you even read the play! • Correct: I can see you’re point, but this is what I think.
