No Cost Extension Request Request must be sent to AoA from your Principal Investigator or Authorized Organizational Representative within 30 days of the project end date. Include written justification for the extended time requested and specify which program activities, originally outlined in your project narrative and work plan, are incomplete. Progress and Financial Reports current? Definitely unallowable: New programmatic activities with grant funds Using the extension to expend unobligated grant funds.
Carryover of Funds Request Project is underway but at the end of the current budget year, there are remaining unobligated funds… what can be done? Funds can be “rolled over” to the next budget year with the following: a signed request from your Principal Investigator or Authorized Representative to your Grants Specialist and cc: your Project Officer a recent Financial Report (SF-425) to verify the unobligated balance A revised budget justification that shows how carryover funds should be re-allocated across budget categories and a justification why funds haven’t been spent according to the original application.
