Program Overview We are excited you are interested in becoming a nurse preceptor! The Central Texas College Associate Degree Nursing (A.D.N.) faculty are proud to present this exciting preceptorship program to enhance nursing education in Central Texas. Interested nurses from all avenues of nursing are invited to join our dedicated team and assist in the education of our future A.D.N. graduates.
Qualifications Per TBON § 215.10(j)(6) clinical preceptors shall have the following qualifications: • Be competent in designated areas of practice. • Have a philosophy of health care congruent with that of the nursing program. • Possess a current licensure or privilege to practice nursing in the State of Texas. • Approval of employee by their employer. • Have a signed agreement between CTC and participating facility.

Curriculum Evaluation The curriculum is constantly evaluated through feedback from graduates, faculty, and the public. This is a cyclical process of feedback and evaluation that is included in the assessment and discussion/implementation process by faculty.
Program Goals The primary goals of the preceptor program are to: - Enable students to link nursing theory to practice - Assist the student in demonstrating an “Independent” level of practice; and - Graduate A.D.N students prepared to successfully integrate into the workforce
