  2. Introduction School administrators have been debating whether they should replace students’ textbooks for an ipad. Wouldn’t you rather carry a two pound ipad than a textbook that weighs about five to ten pounds?

  3. Reason 1: Less excuses • Less excuses for students to say that they left their homework at home. • For example students will actually complete their homework and won’t be lazy to take their heavy book home.

  4. Reason 2: Friendly to The Environment  • Teachers use about 250,000 pieces of paper annually for printout assignments. • With the ipads teachers can send the assignments to students from email. • Teachers can easily download files onto the student’s ipads

  5. Opposing opinion • It costs more to invest in all the technology, software, and computer technicians. • Younger and less responsible students can damage the ipads and will cost more money to repair. • Students may get distracted easier.

  6. Reason 3: Textbooks are to heavy • Textbooks weigh about five to ten pounds each, compared to an ipad that weighs one to two pounds • Students have been complaining about the pain textbooks have caused to their back. • Pediatricians and chiropractors recommend, students carry less than 15% on their back.

  7. Conclusion • In our opinion we believe that the use of ipads will be a great improvement to our future education. • To conclude people are preferring to use the more efficient technology.
