  2. Welcome to RELA Introduce Poem: “Where I’m From” Creatively share who you are – we want to know more about each other by Friday August 25 Need a Watson novel? Complete reading by September 2nd. HOMEWORK Bring supplies – spiral, braded folder w/pockets,1 1/2” binder, 5 dividers, paper, pencil bag, Post-it sticky notes, AND Watsons novel (summer reading) It’s a great day to be a longhorn!

Take out supplies spiral, folder, 1 1/2” binder, dividers, paper, pencil bag, Post-it sticky notes, AND Watson novel Classroom procedures Set-up binder - Heading format - Turn-in novel, spiral & folder w/name Summer Reading annotating AR Dates “Where I’m From” poem and illustrate Simple Sentence Structure notes - see next 2 slides Homework– Complete binder set-up.

  4. Simple Sentences S = subject (answers WHO? Or WHAT?) P = predicate (answers IS? Or DO?) S + P = subject + predicate (complete sentence)

  5. Practicing Simple Sentences Directions: Read the following groups of words. If the word group is just a subject, write S in the blank. If it is just a predicate (begins with a verb), write P in the blank.
