The Second Avenue Subway Created by Michael
ABOUT THE SAS • A dream for decades, the SAS is currently being built to relieve overcrowding on the Lexington Ave. Line. • The SAS project will include a two-track line along second avenue from 125th street to the financial district in lower Manhattan. • The line will be built in four phases and contain two subway services: an extension of the existing Q subway line and the new T line.
SAS PHASES • Phase 1 will be an extension of the Q across 63rd street and north along second avenue to the upper east side at 96th street . • Phase 2 will be another extension of the Q to 125th street from 96th street. • Phase 3 will be from 63rd street to Houston street which will introduce the new T line. • Phase 4 will be from Houston street to Hanover square which completes the line.
