  2. MY QUESTIONS These are my questions. When was the first aircraft invented? How do stealth aircraft fly undetected? What will flight be like in the future. New designs history glider Military aircraft Propeller driven airplane airbus supersonic Stealth jets Osprey talon Concorde F-117 nighthawk F-22 Vertical take off

  3. The history of aircraft The Wright brothers watched lots of birds in flight. They looked at how they glided into the air. They noticed when they flew in the air, the wind that flowed over their wings created lift. They thought that in the next few years, they could design and make a glider that used the technique of the flying bird. In the next three years, they built gliders that would be flown in piloted flights and as kites. Orville and Wilbur

  4. THE FIRST JETPLANE Jet planes are aircraft propelled by jet engines. The first jet engine was built in Germany. The inventors tested a Messerschmitt Me 262. The operational jet plane was tested by the pilot Fritz Wendel. It was later known as the fastest jet plane of World War 2. Mass production of the jet started in 1944. Now modern jet planes can easily fly at 900 km per hour. background

  5. New designs The joint strike fighter program built a multi role fighter called the f-35 lightning 2. It was used by the army, navy, and the air force. It is a stealth combat fighter designed by Lockheed Martin. The fighter is going to be one of the biggest military programs in the world. It is supersonic and will replace jets all over the world. Some of the models have VSTOL (vertical short take off) abilities. The stealth aircraft is one of the many great designs in the aircraft inventory of the U.S. . background

  6. THE FUTURE IN FLIGHT Unmanned aerial vehicles is an unpiloted aircraft. UAV’s can be remote controlled or pre programmed before flight. Some very advanced UAV’s can take voice commands from pilots. UAV’s are the future of military aircraft. But, this will not be possible until the technology is more advanced. The newest military creation is the E-2D Hawkeye. UAV’s will very likely to have an important role in search and rescue missions. They have all weather sensors, so they will be able to see through the rain, fog or at night time. Background link

  7. SUPERSONIC AIRCRAFT During world war 2, fighter planes began shaking violently and some even broke apart. These planes were approaching the sound barrier. Pilots said that it was impossible to break the sound barrier. It soon became a national challenge. At last, Chuck Yeager, united states air force pilot, in his specially designed x-35 broke the sound barrier. Now, most military jets can easily break the sound barrier. Even some airliners, such as the concord is supersonic. Background

  8. SUMMARY I didn’t have any challenges except for the part where I had to find out information about the Wright brothers because I couldn’t find the appropriate site for information. But at last I found the appropriate site which was wikipedia. Everything went well at gathering information. The organizing was easy. I put the same categories and slides together. I read the information from all the sites and typed them down in my own words. My journey was to explore the designs of aircraft since the Wright brothers invented flight.
