B: Key Challenges • ACIP • Delay by the municipality in appointing contractors • NTP • Delay in tender process by the municipalities • RBIG • Strategic issues than operational issues from the municipalities hinder progress in projects. • Municipalities are concerned by the way Governments Grants are reduced as it disrupts their plans • Municipalities are not self-sufficient to implement projects as they say they do not generate enough capital from the consumers • Licenses for the George BWS and Hermanus BWS are still pending

F: Way forward • Intervention from Local Government and SALGA at political/strategic levels • Provincial treasury to assist with workshops with the municipalities on SCM • Fast tracking the Ring fencing policy of revenue generated from water services at municipalities so that regulation can be implemented on generated funds from water services
