Main trends at Texas Instruments • Offer support for all the electronic devices and system produced • Change the focus from hardware to software: (Not SoC –system on Chip, but SoC = Software on Chip) • Orientation to big markets: consumer products, that means the home appliance systems, broadband app, video processing, data acquisition, actuators, automations: industrial and home , communication channels, etc.

Rapid development environment • Allow at developers to bent more on applications • Automation of programs writing using environment like: Mathlab –SIMULINK C code generator, defining generic classes for firmware: DaVINCI • Offering on the same chip the integration of majority needs (hardware&software) for all the acquisition, processing and deployment elements able to process and interconnect the device

Resources, prices and News • On data acquisition and control family MSP430 (price/unit 0.6 to 6 $) • On control systems family C2000 with a lot of application (price/unit few $) • Fast I/O systems dual core devices: ARM&DSP (price/unit 20-50$) • Fast processing for video/audio C6000 a representative type: DM6446 (price/unit 10-20$)
