  2. Adjective Ending in the Nominative Case Something is nominative when it is the subject of a sentence or comes after a conjugation of the verb sein. (both present or past tenses) Look at this chart for definite & indefinite articles in the nomiantive case.   3. Adjective Ending in the Accusative Case Something is Accusative when it is the direct object of a sentence or comes after an accusative preposition. Look at this chart for definite & indefinite articles in the accusative case. Look at this chart for definite & indefinite articles in the accusative case. In the dative, plural nouns add an -en or -n if the plural does not already end in -n, except for plurals ending in -s.

(I see the big car.) Step 1: Is Auto Nominative, Accusative or Dative? (Accusative) Step 2: Is it the or a? (the) Step 3: Is it der, die or das? (das) So the answer is : Ichsehe das grosse Auto.
