  4. How Supports Assist the Individual • Take into account the individual’s sensory needs, • His/her need to understand the passage of time, • His/her modes of learning and strengths, and • His/her need for accurate, reliable information

  5. Temporal Supports • Organize the sequence of time and time frames • Examples: schedules, completion guidelines, waiting supports, and strategies for accepting changes

  10. Procedural Supports • Organize the relationship between steps of an activity or relationships between objects and people • Can include clarification about routines, personal possessions, or privacy

Spatial Supports • Provide specific information regarding the organization of the environment • Include information about the location of objects • Can assist the individual in becoming comfortable with a situation that is over stimulating - sensory overload • Can clarify places for keeping personal belongings - personal spaces • Can help the individual understand his spatial relationship to others
