Things You Need to do First • Wear professional attire • Background check • Required by many schools and needs to be done before you start observations. • It can take up to two weeks to get approved • You need to have a letter from UHV stating your enrolled in the Student Ed Program • Keep Copies of you logs • There are cases of logs being misplaced
Hours Hours Hours • Hours only count once you’re enrolled in the Teachers Ed Program • This means that any hours you may have done prior to being part of the program don’t count! • Its important to observe all grade levels to • Try to base your hours in the area that you are certifying in

Get Them Done ASAP! • DON’T WAIT UNITL THE LAST MINUTE! • You have 45 hours to complete before student teaching • You may run into problems with observations • Find a school that will work with you • Have enough time • If you get a run around go up to the school and talk to them in person.
Try to be Engaged With the Class • Just don’t sit get involved if possible • Ask if there is anything you can do to help • Keep your self awake and aware while observing • Bring something to write on to take notes • If allowed walk around when students are working
