Lectures for the public on “How to manage chronic pain e.g. Fibromyalgia through better knowledge. Campaign for early diagnosis of osteoporosis; Information activities first and foremost the public. BJD ANNUAL WORLD NETWORK CONFERENCE November 30 – December 1, 2008, PUNE, INDIA Key patients group activities and outcome More than 120 physiotherapists attended the conference on osteoporosis treatment. On the Fibromyalgia Day more than 600 from the public attended lectures in Gothenburg and Uppsala. All 540 board members in the County Councils are continuously informed on bone and joint issues. Members of Parliament and the Minister for Social Security have attended NAN activities. The “Stand tall through-out life” card has been distributed to the public, professionals and politicians. All primary schools have received information about the Straighten Up program and about 100 primary schools have been visited. Key interactions with ISC, other NANs, regional groups, governments Interaction with stakeholders is the essence of the Sweden NAN. New networks have been established, e.g.patient organizations in corporation with medical professionals in various concrete activities. The Straighten Up Sweden campaign is a cooperation between the Sweden NAN and Swedish Chiropractic Association. Key development plan for 2009 Activities will continue in the fields of information, education and lobbying. For example: education seminars for occupational therapists on pain management and postpolio treatment. The project will be finished, evaluated and presented to The Swedish Inheritance Fund by June 30th 2009. However, the Sweden NAN will continue its mission according to the BJD.
